Kanchhi Maya Tamang
Kanchhi Maya Tamang, is the first Tamang woman to summit Mt.Everest for the promotion of gender equality and women empowerment. Her goal has been to end the forced migration of women and girls from Sindupalchowk, the district in Nepal with the highest recorded rate of female trafficking.
She has been actively involved in creating educational support for young girls from her village with the intention of empowering these young minds, in order to educate them and keep them safe from potential trafficking. Kanchhi has proven to the world and to Nepali society that women possess the capacity to reach any height.
Prakash Mani Bhushal
Senior counsel Sharma has gained a reputation for himself not only in Nepal but globally over the past three decades as a lawyer who fights against any judgments, acts, or events that can be perceived as anti-public.
He has worked extensively including protection of public land to forest, empowerment of women and protecting the heritage and historical sites.
Surabhi Khanal, a recent graduate of International Development Studies. She joined Save the Child Foundation as she shares compassion towards giving underprivileged children a second chance in life they may not have received otherwise.
Surabhi believes that children have the purest form of energy, therefore she loves to interact, bond and share moments of laughter with kids.
Mamata Shah, is currently a businesswoman running her own clothing store. She has been engaged with various organizations including Pro Public which is an NGO dedicated for the work of public interest.
From a very young age she has been actively engaged in various social work activities with the goal of promoting social change, development, and the empowerment of people and communities. She loves working with children and likes to contribute some of her time towards social work too.
Sonam Yangzom, is someone who always desired to explore every corner of Nepal. For a person very much into exploration, she got an opportunity to work under Teach for Nepal
fellowship in 2017. There she got an opportunity to travel to rural places and help needy communities through education.
She gained an ample amount of experience while working for
Teach for Nepal by teaching kids for two years. After the fellowship, she has been actively involved in Save the Child Foundation as a volunteer where she assists the team with admin and finance activities.
Aditya Bhusal, Director and Business Development Executive at Himalayan Shepherd, a trekking and expedition company, has been into trekking and adventure from a very young age.
During his explorations around different parts of Nepal, he has had the opportunity to interact with people from different backgrounds.
He has always been keen to understand why social disparities persist and how it affects our society. Aditya likes to devote his time towards volunteering for Save the Child Foundation as he feels that it brings joy to his heart.
Surendra Kumar Sharma
Surendra Kumar Shrestha, joined Save the Child Foundation with more than 25 years of experience in the development sector. He believes that working in the development sector is
very fulfilling as we contribute towards the growth of marginalized communities.
Even after all these years of his contribution, he still believes he is still young at heart and can contribute to the growth and development of the upcoming generations.
Pemba Dorje Sherpa
Pemba Dorje Sherpa, a record holding climber of Mt. Everest, who ascended Everest in 8hrs and ten minutes, is a Co- founder of a trekking and expedition company, Himalayan Shepherd.He has been well-renowned nationally and internationally for his expedition to Everest for 21 times now.
He has been actively engaged in Save the Child Foundation as a volunteer since its beginning phase in Nepal. As he believes that we should always give back to our community, he has been engaged in providing his time and resources for the growth and development of the children.
